A self-directed alternative to a traditional CDL school

Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited vehicle familiarization for customers who arrive with previously acquired knowledge and skills from experience or independent self-study. This service model is intended as an alternative to a traditional CDL school program. The paid rental and familiarization services do not provide a comprehensive beginner curriculum or classroom instruction. Customers prepare and progress according to their existing ability.

Required FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel training is a separate, proficiency-based activity. Our Texas Workforce Commission exemption request is pending; TWC has not granted an exemption. Describing the business as an alternative to a school does not establish its regulatory status.

The hotshot combination pictured on our website

The approved hotshot image shows a white Freightliner M2 106 SportChassis-style truck pulling a 44-foot aluminum gooseneck trailer. This illustrates the requested combination, including the hydraulic dovetail and tandem-wheel trailer concept. Confirm actual equipment, ratings, brake system and availability with us; website imagery does not establish a vehicle’s licensing or testing qualification.

Match your CDL plan to the actual equipment

Hotshot is a type of operation, rather than a license class by itself. Tell us about the truck and trailer you intend to operate so you can confirm the applicable license and restrictions with Texas DPS. Customers with existing combination-vehicle skills may discuss rental and limited familiarization, with applicable ELDT addressed separately.

Questions before you arrange service

Does every hotshot setup need the same CDL?

No. The actual vehicle combination and applicable rules determine the requirements. Share the equipment ratings and configuration and verify your licensing path with Texas DPS.
